Pet Planet
Selection of artwork from "Pet Planet", a 4 minute short film I created in late 2019. The film is fully animated and comprised of 32 shots across 14 different scenes/environments.
Modeling was done in Blender, while some of the natural environments were detailed in Gaea. The film was rendered in a Cycles/EEVEE combination.
Pet Planet is the best toy you've never had! Once unpacked and switched on, it forms an entire living world. Take good care of it and witness the rise of civilizations right on your tabletop. Nothing could ever go wrong.

Loosely based on my childhood room. In fact, a few more spacey/Sci-Fi gadgets, lots and lots of dinosaurs, and it would look *exactly* as my childhood room.
Who needs a globe when you can have a Pet Planet :P

Sprawling civilization within the Pet Planet toy. Obviously, I played way too much Civ and Sim City (SNES version FTW!) growing up...
Little space center employees lining up to watch the launch are actually animated. They're almost imperceptible in the film, but I know they're there dancing, and that's what's important :) #AnimatorsKnowWhatsImportant
In my infinite wisdom I decided it would be such a great idea to have the main prop be a refractive glass dome housing a planet inside. That hubris was taxed through my electricity bill -.-
