The Great Voyage

I'm very much into science and astronomy, so - in my free time - I began channeling that passion into a series of short documentaries.

The Great Voyage follows a trail of curiosity and fascination with the cosmos through the ages. We set our sights on the Ocean and discovered the universe!

I did all the 3D work in Blender, and - depending on the shot - rendered with Cycles and EEVEE. Compositing was mostly split between DaVinci Resolve's Fusion page and Adobe After Effects, while some simpler shots were composited in Blender.

Most of the assets were modeled from scratch, but some were bought (e.g. that wonderful statue of Neptune), and some were sourced from digital libraries of museums (e.g. those three statuettes in the first image).
